Storm Platoon
"There is always a calm before the storm"

The Storm Platoon was founded alongside the VMM-130 Lightning Lancers, but now has been officially transferred to the Fleet, under the leadership of Commander Online "Funker". (Ger: Radioman)

The Storm Platoon is known for expertise in Small Unit Tactics and Close Quarters Battles, but due to recent organizational changes the Platoon now also hosts basic training for any of the soldiers aspiring to join them, leading to a varied roster of ranks, experience and people, all united under one directive they share with their airborne comrades.

Enlistment

Soldiers used to only be chosen from the ranks of the pilots of the Coalition Fleet that has formed around the SCC Demeter III, but has now been opened to applications from the mainland.

Any aspirant, no matter the amount of combat deployments, flight hours, their rank or role within The Boat or other units will start at the very beginning.
Basic training is designed to give each and every member of the platoon a common base of knowledge and skills that they need to rely on in the field, while learning to also rely on each other for support.
But it is also here where the deciding moments happen for each and every recruit. While this training may not be as rigorous, physically and mentally straining or as difficult as they may be elsewhere, but it is still not just lessons to be learned but a test of conviction, discipline and the ability to adapt and learn which are all cruical in battle.

Those who want to take on this test and the challenges but also experiences and opportunities that come with it can enlist here at any time, after reading the ROE.

Operations

Our task is to complete (Mil-Sim) ground operations anywhere the fleet is deployed, be it Altis (ARMA III, this will be the main focus), Los Suenos (Ready or Not), as well as training in Virtual Reality (Tactical Assault VR).

Currently our main focus is on Altis, Stratis and the surrounding regions, but deployments to Chernarus are not out of the question. (ARMA III)

We have set up multiple Mod Repositories for ARMA III using Swifty and are using Team Speak 3 for communication during operations.

The Setup is explained here.
